Description

Amendment 0001 is hereby issued to provide the Government's response to questions received from a prospective contractor(s). *Please note that, due to technical system issues, the SF30 will be uploaded once the system is operational again. QUESTIONs AND ANSWERs The following questions were raised and answers are hereby provided: Question No. 1: The solicitation requires prescription (corrective) lenses that also meet JIS T8147. In Japan, JIS T8147 applies to plano (non-prescription) lenses, so prescription safety glasses generally cannot carry formal JIS T8147 certification. Manufacturers instead perform in-house impact testing per the JIS T8147 method (confirming no shattering or cracking). Would in-house impact testing conducted per the JIS T8147 method satisfy this requirement? Answer: Yes. Question No. 2: What documentation should we submit as proof of compliance (is an in-house impact test report acceptable)? Answer: An in-house impact test report from the manufacturer is acceptable as proof of compliance. Please provide the product's website or homepage link, or catalogs of the product being offered to facilitate verification. ---------------------------------------------------- Safety Glasses for U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility Yokosuka and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC). Please see attached for details. This solicitation is intended only for sources duly authorized to operate and do business in Japan, as prescribed by DFARS 252.225-7042. Prime Contractors outside of Japan must submit documentation that unambiguously demonstrates the Offer's compliance with DFARS 252.225-7042 (e.g. proof of incorporation) as part of their quotation.
