Description
The City of Champaign Public Works Department, Fleet Services Division, manages the City’s fleet, including fire apparatus assigned to the Champaign Fire Department. The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to establish a qualified fire apparatus maintenance and repair contractor to supplement City mechanics when repairs are outside the practical scope of City staff, require specialized fire apparatus expertise or equipment, or cannot be completed by City staff within the operational time available. The resulting agreement is intended to provide responsive, as-needed repair capacity for existing City fire apparatus. The agreement does not guarantee a minimum volume of work. The City may continue to perform work with City staff, use other existing contracts, obtain manufacturer or warranty service, or separately procure work when determined to be in the City’s best interest.
