Description

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) is seeking grant proposals statewide for building sustainable community economic enterprises in existing homesteads on Hawaiian Home Lands and benefit existing homestead communities. Sustainable community economic enterprises include increasing homestead food security, homestead jobs creation, workforce development (training, education, skills building), and sustainable and revenue-generating beneficiary-owned economic enterprises. Grant proposals may cover a broad range of areas in community economic enterprises including dedicated staff, programmatic, start-up operations, materials/supplies, equipment, and construction. Partnerships and teams consisting of DHHL beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries, including individuals and organizations, are encouraged to apply. Proposed projects must be beneficiary-driven and assistance provided must benefit existing DHHL lessees. All applications must include your proposed approach to building sustainable homestead economic enterprises including specific tasks, measurable outputs, community benefits, and long-term impacts and change in the community.
