Description
The US Army Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) requires requires assessing the genome of soldiers who volunteer for research studies. The Military Nutrition Division requires a vendor capable of delivering large-scale, high-density array-based genotyping services for 648 DNA samples collected as part of the Military Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (MHANES). Genomics analysis (i.e., targeted measurement of millions of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms [SNPs] in the genome and assessment of specific SNPs) is required to support analyses in ongoing research studies. Genomic analysis of DNA using array-based genotyping enables targeted and reproducible measurement of hundreds of thousands to millions of known human variants and facilitates high-resolution imputation to tens of millions of additional variants. For this project, the Illumina Global Diversity Array (GDA), which includes approximately 1.8 million genome-wide markers, is required to support population genetic analyses, ancestry inference, polygenic score calculation, and genome-wide association studies (GWAS).
