Description
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (¿BOR¿) as (¿Owner¿), on behalf of University of Georgia (¿UGA¿), (¿User¿) is soliciting statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing design professional services for the construction of a project known as "Project No. J-470 OUA-26-100 Building #1050 Renovation¿ at University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms that respond to this RFQ, who are determined by the Owner to be especially qualified, may be deemed eligible and may be invited to interview for these services. All respondents to this RFQ are subject to instructions communicated in this document and are cautioned to completely review the entire RFQ and follow instructions carefully. BOR reserves the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications or proposals, and to waive technicalities and informalities at their discretion. Project Background With the completion of Science and Ag Hill Modernization, Phase II, the Environmental Health Sciences department will relocate to Cedar Street Building B allowing for full renovation of Building #1050. Built c. 1939 with New Deal funds, the building originally served the Dairy Sciences department and has housed Environmental Health Sciences since the 1970s. The historic facility has a narrow footprint which will be converted to instructional space. Situated on D. W. Brooks Mall, the renovated building will provide centrally scheduled instructional spaces in the heart of UGA¿s south campus. Classrooms will meet UGA¿s three criteria for Active Learning classrooms as defined in the institution¿s Quality Enhancement Plan by providing a minimum of 25 square feet per student, mobile furnishings and student collaboration tools. Project Description This project will entail a total renovation of Building #1050 encompassing approximately 24,000 GSF. The concrete and masonry building is composed of a central three-story form with a rear one-story wing.
