Description
Spalding County has been awarded a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Planning and Demonstration Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in the amount of $300,000 (Federal Award No. 693JJ32640517). The total project budget, including the County's 20 percent local match, is $375,000. The grant is authorized under Section 24112 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA, Pub. L. 117-58, November 15, 2021) and is administered by the FHWA Office of Safety. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit qualified transportation planning consultants to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan for Spalding County, Georgia. The Action Plan will serve as the County's roadmap for eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries and will position the County to compete for future SS4A Implementation Grant funding.
