Description
Effingham County is soliciting the construction of a new 1.5-million-gallon concrete composite elevated water tank as part of the County’s Regional Water Supply Facilities project. The project includes all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to provide a complete and fully operational elevated water storage facility, including the tank foundation, tank erection, site work, piping, painting, electrical systems, instrumentation, SCADA, and related accessories. Major construction components include the elevated tank and foundation, site clearing and grading, gravel access areas, approximately 12-inch PVC water main, flanged piping and control valves, connection to the existing 16-inch water main, fire hydrant assemblies, gate valves, steel casing/jack-and-bore work, chain-link fencing and gates, rip-rap, miscellaneous concrete, erosion and sediment controls, and site restoration. The project also includes a complete electrical, instrumentation, and SCADA system, including electrical service, panels, conduit, wiring, gauges, controls, grounding, lighting, pressure instrumentation, and associated testing and inspections. The electrical plans further identify SCADA equipment, tank lighting, grounding around the tank, service equipment, and provisions for obstruction lighting if required for FAA compliance. Additional work includes tank coating and painting, lettering and logo installation, disinfection and bacteriological testing of the water system, stormwater/NPDES monitoring and reporting, and completion of all regulatory and closeout requirements necessary to place the facility into service.
