Lease and Redevelop Centro Español at 2306 N. Howard

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to identify and select a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization or private for-profit corporation/organization active with the State of Florida Division of Corporations to lease and redevelop Centro Español for a use that will be compatible with the surrounding community and that is in compliance with federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) use restrictions. All building improvements shall respect the building’s historic character. All plans for renovation, restoration, or alteration of the building are subject to approval of the Architectural Review Commission and/or Commission staff and must also adhere to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings. The Future Land Use designation for the site is Community Commercial 35 (CC-35), and it is zoned as a Planned Development (PD). The site is located in the West Tampa National Historic District, West Tampa Overlay District, and Impact Fee Exempt Zone for Transportation.
