Description
Purpose: The Song-Brown program aims to increase the number of students receiving quality primary care education and training in areas of unmet need throughout California. Attracting and admitting students underrepresented in medicine and those from underserved communities, training students in underserved areas, and placing graduates in underserved areas. Pursuant to the Song-Brown Health Care Workforce Training Act (Song-Brown Act), Health and safety Code Section 128200, et.seq., the Department of Health Care Access and Information will consider applications to support the development of new licensed Midwifery (LM) programs. Eligible Applicants: Licensed Midwifery training programs must be in the process of obtaining accreditation by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council OR is in the process of obtaining approval by the Medical Board of California or approved by the state licensing and regulatory board for licensed midwives, pursuant to Sections 128295-128299, Article 4, Chapter 4, 107, of the California Health and Safety Code. Eligible Geographies: Eligible programs must be located within California.
