Description
The work to be performed under this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and forces necessary for the drilling, construction, development and testing of one (1) monitoring well, designated MW-1, one (1) full-scale injection well, designated IW-1, and one (1) municipal water supply well, designated Well 37. The monitoring and injection wells are part of a site characterization drilling program in support of the Palmdale Water District (PWD) Pure Water Antelope Valley (PWAV) project. The primary goal of the PWAV project is to develop a drought-resilient water supply for the Antelope Valley area through replenishment of the groundwater basin by injection of treated wastewater. The primary goal of the site characterization program is to refine understanding of area aquifers from which an existing groundwater model can be validated and refined to confirm regulatory compliance. Among other things, this proposed program will include installation and testing of an injection well and hydraulically downgradient monitoring well to better characterize the subsurface lithology and geochemistry, estimate potential full-scale injection capacity, and estimate aquifer transport properties.
