Description
Purpose: CDFW will provide funding to implement the cleanup and remediation of illicit cannabis cultivation impacts on qualified public lands. CDFW will provide funding to implement the cleanup and remediation of illicit cannabis cultivation impacts on qualified public lands. Qualified public land includes land owned in fee simple title and managed by a federal, state, local government, or institution, or California Native American tribal government. It also includes land held by the United States in trust for a California Native American tribe. Cleanup and remediation projects should focus on the severe impacts of illicit cannabis operations and reduce delivery of contaminants and waste to the environment by removing refuse and infrastructure associated with illegal cannabis cultivation on qualified public land. Projects can include the removal of stream crossings or water diversion infrastructure associated with illegal cannabis cultivation. Eligible Applicants: Eligibility under this Solicitation is defined by Fish and Game Code Section §1501.5(b). Eligible entities include: federal, state, and local public agencies and institutions within California; nonprofit organizations qualified to do business in California and qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code; and California Native American tribes as defined in the Public Resources Code section 21073. Eligible Geographies: Funds under this Solicitation will be available for projects statewide. However, proposed projects within a Cannabis Priority Watershed, as defined by the State Water Resources Control Board in coordination with CDFW, and/or identified as a priority stream in the California Water Action Plan are encouraged. Matching Funding: Cost share is not required; however, proposals with higher proportions of secured cost share will receive higher scores during the evaluation process.
