Description
Purpose: The Public Charter Schools Grant Program (PCSGP) Start-Up Sub-Grant provides funding for the planning and initial implementation of newly established or conversion charter schools, as well as the replication and expansion of high-quality charter schools, authorized under Title IV, Part C of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) (20 United States Code [U.S.C.] 7221–7221j). The PCSGP 2024 Waiver Entry Request for Applications (RFA) Start-Up Sub-grant is only available for subgrantees from California's 2020 Charter School's Program with remaining time and funding available, meeting all of the requirements under this RFA and continuing to meet the federal definition of a charter school under ESEA Section 4310(2). Eligible Applicants: Funded applicants will be issued a 2024 Grant Award Notification with funds remaining from the school's previous 2020 Charter Schools Program (CSP) PCSGP award. The subaward type will remain unchanged throughout this award. The duration will be reduced by the length of the school's previously approved application under the 2020 Charter Schools Program grant and the term already served. Applicants must submit a new 2024 PCSGP application. Eligible Geographies: The 2024 PCSGP Waiver Entry Request for Applications (RFA) is only available for subgrantees from California’s 2020 Charter Schools Program grant with remaining time and funding available, meeting all of the requirements under this RFA and continuing to meet the federal definition of a “charter school” under ESEA Section 4310(2)
