Description
Purpose: The goal of the Housing for a Healthy California (HHC) program is to reduce the financial burden on local and state resources due to the over-utilization of emergency departments, inpatient care, nursing home stays and use of corrections systems and law enforcement resources as the point of health care provision for people who are chronically homeless or homeless and a high-cost health user. The goal of the Housing for a Healthy California (HHC) program is to reduce the financial burden on local and state resources due to the over-utilization of emergency departments, inpatient care, nursing home stays and use of corrections systems and law enforcement resources as the point of health care provision for people who are chronically homeless or homeless and a high-cost health user. Eligible Uses include: loans for acquisition and/or new construction of affordable rental housing, and grants for project-based operating assistance in the form of a Capitalized Operating Subsidy Reserve (COSR).
