Description

Purpose: Up to $40 million in grant funds for projects that will deploy medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) charging or hydrogen refueling infrastructure for California seaports and land ports of entry. Funding will support new installation of in-ground fueling infrastructure for battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell MDHD vehicles and/or port equipment and/or off-road equipment (e.g. gantries, cargo handling equipment, etc.). The California Energy Commission’s (CEC’s) Clean Transportation Program announces the availability of up to $40 million in grant funds for projects that will deploy medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) charging or hydrogen refueling infrastructure for California seaports and land ports of entry. Funding will support new installation of in-ground fueling infrastructure for battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell MDHD vehicles and/or port equipment and/or off-road equipment (e.g. gantries, cargo handling equipment, etc.). Eligible Applicants: This solicitation is open to all California ports and all public and private entities serving or supporting a California port. Non-port applicants will be required to either provide a letter of support from a port or otherwise describe in the project narrative how the project will support a port or ports. Ineligible applicants include investor-owned utilities.
