Description
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive Fire and Life Safety Services for its two correctional facilities. This project is intended to strengthen and modernize existing fire and life safety programs by ensuring full regulatory compliance, improving system reliability, and enhancing staff readiness in emergency situations. The selected vendor will play a critical role in supporting life safety operations within a secure custodial environment, where compliance with Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) standards and Cal/OSHA requirements is essential. In addition to performing inspections and audits, the vendor will help refine internal processes, update documentation and emergency planning, and assist in developing a long-term, sustainable approach to equipment maintenance and replacement. This effort is not limited to routine compliance checks; it is an opportunity to partner with the Sheriff’s Office to proactively identify gaps, implement best practices, and enhance coordination with local fire authorities. The County is seeking a vendor that brings both technical expertise and a collaborative approach to ensure that fire and life safety systems, equipment, and training programs are effective, current, and aligned with operational needs.
