Description
The County of Sacramento (County) owns and operates the Sacramento International Airport (SMF) through the Department of Airports (Department). SMF is a commercial service airport located 12 miles from downtown Sacramento. SMF opened in 1967 under its previous name, the Sacramento Metropolitan Airport, and in the 1990s it was renamed Sacramento International Airport (Airport). Currently, SMF is best known as the gateway between Northern California destinations and major cities across the United States and the world. The proposed Airfield Maintenance ( AFMX ) Facility project (Project) will consist of a new, approximately 20,000 square foot pre-engineered steel structure that will provide a modern, durable, and cost-effective solution to house maintenance equipment, vehicles, materials, and administrative functions in support of airfield operations in a single location at SMF. The proposed new building will be able to accommodate AFMX needs and estimated future growth. The Department invites all qualified Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) firms interested in providing their services described in this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) in compliance with the requirements stated herein. A. Eligibility to Submit a Response: Ability to provide adequate bonds and insurance commensurate with the work to be performed Hold a Class B or higher California Contractors License which is current, valid, and in good standing with the California Contractors State License Board Be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public works as required by California Labor Code sections 1771.5 and 1725.5 Have delivered projects using the CMAR delivery method or other delivery methods that require Guaranteed Maximum Prices (GMPs) and managed work through GMP contracts Ability to deliver similar projects within performance period and budget Have experience working with government agencies and with public works projects, including applicable public contracting and labor compliance requirements In addition, experience in the following areas is desired: Working in secure public areas Working in an operational setting that interacts with the public Experience with complex equipment replacement projects
