Description
This is a Sources Sought notice for the requirements below for Market Research purposes. Please note this is not a request for quotes. 60 MXS, Fabrication Flight, is looking to expand their manufacturing capability: These post-processing requirements are our primary manufacturing bottlenecks; while we can machine the parts, our lack of required infrastructure prevents us from meeting blueprint specifications and causes the rejection of -107 and -202 engineering requests. Below are the required capabilities tied to their governing specifications. 1. Anodize & Dichromate Sealing (Immediate Test Case) Requirement: MIL-A-8625 Type II (Class I) & Type III (Class I & II) 2. Automated Shot Peening Requirement: ASTM 2430, Lockheed STP51-501, Boeing SOPM 20-10-03 Limitation: Requires automated intensity-control and media-sorting equipment. Manual roto-peening is structurally impractical for large surface areas. 3. Thermal Spray Coatings (Tungsten Carbide – Cobalt) Requirement: BMS10-67 Type I via Boeing BAC5851 Class 1 (Plasma) or Class 2 (HVOF) Limitation: Travis AFB lacks the high-velocity oxygen fuel / plasma thermal equipment and specialized environmental spray booths required for this application 4. Pre-Penetrant Alkaline Acid Etch Requirement: Lockheed STP53-201 / Boeing SOPM 20-20-02 (Sodium Hydroxide or Flicks etch) Limitation: Critical post-machining process to remove 0.0002” – 0.0004” of smeared metal to allow for accurate NDI crack detection Goal: To establish a possible Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for these four distinct processes. If your company is capable of fulfilling the required effort, notify the POC.
