Description
Purpose: The purpose of the Program is to increase the availability of free comprehensive civil and criminal legal assistance needed to effectively aid adult and youth victims/survivors of crime who are seeking relief in legal matters related to that crime. Funds may not be used to provide criminal defense services. The purpose of the Program is to increase the availability of free comprehensive civil and criminal legal assistance needed to effectively aid adult and youth victims/survivors of crime who are seeking relief in legal matters related to that crime. Funds may not be used to provide criminal defense services. Eligible Applicants: Applicants must be organizations providing pro bono legal assistance (e.g., law schools, bar associations, Tribal governments/organizations, legal aid/statewide legal services agencies) or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that provide direct victim/survivor services. Eligible Geographies: All California counties. Matching Funding: Applicants may apply for up to $214,000, for the 12-month Grant Subaward performance period.
