Marshall Exploration Facility

NOTICE OF CONTRACT AWARD The Government hereby announces the award of Contract No. 80MSFC26C0016 to Thrash Commercial Contractors under Solicitation No. 80MSFC25R0015 for the Marshall Exploration Facility at Marshall Space Flight Center . The contract was awarded on August 27, 2026 in the amount of $48,750,000. The project consists of the design and construction of the Marshall Exploration Facility, including associated site development, utilities, infrastructure improvements, and other necessary work to provide a complete and functional facility. The Marshall Exploration Facility (MEF) is a mission-enabling infrastructure investment that directly supports the execution of NASA's exploration, science, and technology programs. The facility will restore collaborative workspace capabilities that were lost following the demolition of Building 4200. The acquisition was conducted as a competitive Design-Build two phase procurement. Proposals were evaluated in accordance with the evaluation factors and award methodology established in the solicitation. Thrash Commercial Contractors was selected for award as providing the best value to the Government.
