Draft Southeast Alaska Transportation Plan Update Public Comment Period The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has released the draft Southeast Alaska Transportation Plan (SEATP) Update to gather public feedback. The draft SEATP and appendices are available on the project website at www.SoutheastAlaskaTransportationPlan.com . • Does the draft SEATP reflect the transportation needs and priorities of your community? Project Overview DOT&PF is updating the SEATP to guide transportation improvements over the next 20 years. The plan: • Considers both intercommunity travel and local transportation needs • Addresses all modes of transportation, including roads, ferries, airports, trails, and marine facilities • Identifies regional priorities and potential projects to meet those needs • Helps inform the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and the Aviation Improvement Program (AIP) • Covers the Southeast Alaska planning area, which is characterized by unique geography and a reliance on diverse transportation modes The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by DOT&PF pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated April 13, 2023, and executed by FHWA and DOT&PF.
