Description
The selected Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm shall design a new build ferry to meet Alaska Marine Highway System?s operational and performance requirements for vessels to service Southcentral and Southeast Alaska Ports. The Primary Range of Operations shall be from Bellingham, WA to Whittier, AK. The design phase of the project spans all activities of preliminary vessel design through advertisement for construction of a new mainline vessel, followed by Construction Support as required by the Department. The final design product will be a set of plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E) assembly adequate to obtain competitive bids and detailed enough to construct the project. During this phase, additional requirements may include model testing, preparation of design study reports, assistance with environmental documents, public outreach meetings, value engineering studies. Following completion of PS&E the Consultant must be available to provide engineering interpretation of the PS&E assembly during bidding. Following successful bidding the Consultant must be available to assist the State through completion of Construction, Warranty, and Project Closure. Eligibility: Eligible
