PUBLIC AND AGENCY NOTICE ADL 234685 PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT INTERIOR TELEPHONE COMPANY Pursuant to AS 38.05.850 and 11 AAC 05.070(d)(2)(C), the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Lands Office (SCRO) is considering the issuance of a public utility easement in response to the following application: APPLICANT: American Broadband dba Interior Telephone Company PROJECT NAME: ADL 234685 GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Seward Meridian Township 2 North, Range 1 West, Section 24, and Seward Meridian Township 2 North, Range 1 East, Section 19. REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant proposes to install, survey, operate, and maintain fiber optic cable lines in an area of the Kenai Peninsula Borough located near Seward Highway Mile Post 11. The activity will include use of an existing electric utility line owned by the City of Seward Electric Department (ADL 219510) as well as trenching to bury a segment of cable in a new alignment between the Highway and the existing utility line. Applications for associated approvals have been submitted to the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and the Alaska Railroad Corporation. The overall development area will be approximately 6,328 feet long by 30 feet wide for an area of approximately 4.85 acres. Please see the attachments for additional information. If approved, the final location, area and dimension of the requested easement will be determined by a required as-built survey and may differ from that described above. Nothing herein implies the establishment of an easement on land that is not managed by DNR-DMLW. REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite. DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: September 4, 2026. Members of the public and interested agencies are invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made. To ensure consideration, comments must be submitted in writing and received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 West 7 th Avenue, Suite 900C, Anchorage, Alaska 99501 on or before the date noted above.
