Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Florence Bascom Geoscience Center (FBGC), intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to Microtrac Inc, located in York, PA, for one (1) Microtrac Camsizer 3D instrument with data evaluation unit, to be delivered to Reston, VA within 30 days of award. The Camsizer 3D offers the unique ability to analyze both the 2D and 3D characteristics of particles ranging from 20µm - 30mm (diameter) in 2-dimensional space, and from 150µm - 20mm (diameter) in 3-dimensional space. This is a wide range that is required for the types of sediments being processed at the USGS. This wide range, analytical capabilities (sphericity, roundness, 3D morphology), and speed of operation (2-5 minutes per sample) of the Camsizer 3D equipment is necessary for the 2D and 3D analytical imaging requirements of the USGS. The Camsizer 3D is the only instrument that offers the combination and range of analytical capabilities required by the USGS in a single unit. As the sole provider of the Camsizer 3D, Microtrac offers the only instrument capable of meeting all the specific analytical requirements for this use case. In accordance with Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) 5.101(c)(4)(vi), all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
